Mygoodebook.com is a great place for real people to meet and share useful information about work, family, hobbies, travel, or any common interest.

The idea for mygoodebook came from my experiences as a Space Shuttle flight controller in NASA’s famous Mission Control Center. I worked there for over 20 years, beginning with the first Space Shuttle mission in 1981. Flight controllers have to manage tremendous amounts of information, and they also have to share it with their team members in Mission Control. One of the ways they do this is by creating their own individual “goody books”. A flight controller’s goody book contains handwritten notes, drawings, photographs, and any other information required to help them manage and control the complex operations associated with the Space Shuttle.

Not only were goody books essential to each flight controller, but because a manned spacecraft is a complex, interconnected assembly of many different systems, a flight controller often had to share his or her information with other flight controllers. In the old days, that meant making copies and then distributing them to your team mates in Mission Control.

Although these goody books are usually in the form of a binder stuffed with a lot of paper hardcopies, one day it occurred to me that they could be electronic as well. And if you could access it from the internet, then you could have your own personal goody book wherever you go, without having to carry a heavy, messy binder with you. Not only that, but you could also share it with others who might be interested in it. So I decided to create “mygoodebook.com”.

Mygoodebook.com allows you upload files and photos onto your own personal website, keep a blog about your activities, and share it with others. I’m betting that flight controllers aren’t the only ones who could use a goody book. Anyone who needs quick access to a lot of information, or who needs to share info with coworkers or friends, or who just wants to share their own specialized knowledge with others will love mygoodebook. And the best part is – it’s free!
